Tara Macri stars alongside Mike Starr and Dashiell Connery in the award-winning short film “Outcry,” which has officially secured a distribution deal with Echelon Studios. The highly anticipated 26-minute film, directed by emerging filmmaker award winner p.m.lipscomb, will soon be available on streaming platforms worldwide.
“Outcry” is a poignant drama that unfolds on the anniversary of an aging man’s first meeting with his late wife. Tara Macri delivers a compelling performance as one of the “dishonest strangers” who shares an evening of private truths and revelations with Mike Starr’s character. The film explores themes of grief, second chances, and fresh starts.
Director p.m.lipscomb shares: “Everything begins with the written word but it takes a great cast to ground the prose into a formed collective reality. I’m so thankful that with Outcry I had one of the best casts a filmmaker could ask for.”
The film has received glowing reviews from critics:
Mike Starr, Tara’s co-star, praised the collaborative nature of the production: “The writing was pure poetry, the set was the most collaborative, and the cast was truly remarkable! Being in a P.M. Lipscomb movie is like living inside of a miracle. Very few filmmakers come along with ideas as fresh as his.”
Shot in Los Angeles during a brief window in the COVID-19 pandemic, “Outcry” showcases the resilience and creativity of independent filmmaking. The film is a presentation of 10 Count Records and Picture Remedy.
